by Rachel Fallon-Langdon 7 Jul 2017 15:20 BST 6 July 2017

On Thursday afternoon off Point Fermin, Phaedo^3 commenced another epic dash across the eastern Pacific, destination Honolulu.

Starting alongside the foiling MOD 70 Maseratti, Mighty Merloe, Chim Chim and LoeReal, the crew hope to complete the 2,225 nautical mile course in just over 4 days. The forecast shows most of the Multihulls will beat the race record of 5 days 9 hours 18 minutes, held by Bruno Peyron's 86ft catamaran Explorer back in 1987.

Crew on board for the race: Lloyd Thornburg, Simon Fisher, Sam Goodchild, Pete Cumming, Paul Allen and Fletcher Kennedy.
